Chief
I am honored to be the Fire Chief of the Derry Fire
Department, which is comprised of the finest 88 employees. These members
provide exceptional public services delivered with pride. The team manifests
itself as firefighters who deliver highly visible emergency services, the
fire prevention staff who promote preventive actions, our emergency
dispatchers who provide communication support and the highly qualified
support staff behind the scenes that sustains us.
I am responsible for the overall operation and direction of the Derry Fire
Department through the implementation of the fire strategic plan. As Fire
Chief I ensure that the plan's objectives are proactive and consistent with
the Town of Derry’s mission, vision and values.
Our Department prides itself in providing innovative solutions to maintain
the most cost effective, community oriented, customer care organization. Our
programs are successful due to professionally trained and dedicated people
who implement them. The Derry Fire Department is extremely proud of the
people we have attracted and of the quality efforts of all the members of
this organization. The Department members work diligently to be technically
current, fiscally responsible, and highly trained in order to provide the
optimal level of public services and enhance employee safety.
We embrace change as the mechanism to serve the public and our employees in
the fire service’s highest traditions. We are a respected leader within the
fire service and a trusted agency when counted upon to provide mutual aid to
neighboring agencies. We continue to strive to be the best by becoming a
nationally accredited fire and ambulance service. The Department completed
our CASS accreditation this year and will complete our CFAI fire
accreditation in 2006.
We are proud of our history and look forward to the future. Together we will
continue to serve the citizens of Derry and protect them from the hazards
