Facility Includes: Indoor lodge area pavillion, skate park, playground, sledding hill, and bike path
The Alexander-Carr Lodge is open during the winter months (weather permitting) for use of the sledding hill. Inside the lodge is a concession stand, cafe style tables and chairs, board games, and a television with many family DVDs. Sleds with metal blades and/or toboggans are not allowed for use on the hill at any time. The Department does rent snow shoes for an hourly fee.
Alexander-Carr is also home for many of our toddler programs. Tiny Tots, Toddler Times, and Wiggles & Giggles all use this facility year round , with the exception of the summer sessions that are moved to Hood Park. Please check out the Programs & Registrations page for this season for more information on these programs!
The skate park at A/C includes concrete obstacles which create a challenging street level course. This part of the park does have lights that are on until 9:30 p.m. nightly. It is important to note that the skate park is restricted to use of skateboards and rollerblades only. Bicycles are NOT permitted. The Department recommends that all participants wear helmets and protective safety gear.
Alexander-Carr Lodge is available for rental for birthday parties, meetings, reunions, etc.! If you are interested in renting the lodge, please contact the Parks & Recreation Office at (603) 432-6136 to inquire about availability.
In addition, a Facility Use Form must be filled out and accepted by the Parks & Recreation Director. Insurance must be given to the Department for each rental prior to the rental date.
