Mission: To improve the health and safety of individuals, families and the community through health promotion, disease prevention and protection from public health threats.
The Greater Derry Area Health and Safety Council (AHSC) is one of 14 New Hampshire Public Health Network Sites which has been in existence since 2001. The Town of Derry used this grant to create the Bureau of Public Health. This Bureau is currently funded by grants from the NH Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to build increased public health infrastructure and capacity in the Greater Derry Area including the towns of Atkinson, Chester, Danville, Derry, Hampstead, Londonderry, Plaistow, Salem, Sandown and Windham.
